Terra Big Listen Entry

Register with the first annual Terra Big Day and be eligible for prizes and fame!  All net proceeds, after processing fees, go to conservation at New Jersey Audubon.  You'll be joined by thousands of people on the Global Big Day and the World Series of Birding, also (and not coincidentally) on May 10!  

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pay your entry fee here - you'll be entered into all three categories (Most Species Detected, Most Individual Calls Detected, and Coolest Rarities).  Please Note: we will use your first name and last initial on the public leaderboard - let us know in the notes if you want something different.
2. Sit back, relax and watch your progress on the leaderboard and map on Saturday May 10 from 12:00AM EDT to 11:59PM EDT.  
3. The top 3 winners in each category will win awesome prizes!

IMPORTANT:  Make sure you check out using the email address that your Terra(s) are registered to. If you check out with the wrong email address, please contact support so we can update your data accordingly. 

THE PRIZES

1. A set of 3 high-gain antennas for your Terra for all three frequencies (Wifi, Blu 2.4gHz, and Motus-compatible 434mHz.
2. A beautiful Terra Tee in your size to broadcast your excellence
3. A striking Terra Mug so you can drink in your victory.

CONTEST RULES

1. The contest starts May 10 at midnight EDT and concludes before the following midnight, regardless of timezone
   
2. A Terra can be positioned anywhere, assuming you have permission to do so and internet access
3. Food, habitat, etc. can be used to increase biodiversity around your Terra
4. Recorded bird calls to attract species or faked bird calls will result in disqualification
5. A confidence rating of 40% or greater will be used
6. The top 10 users will be reviewed by experts to validate accurate species identification

TERRA FIRMWARE Once you are registered in our system, all Terras on your account will be updated to the v2.21 update. This is to ensure your Terra is on the latest firmware for best performance during this event and so that everyone is on the same footing. This update is free.  Please make sure you keep your device on to avoid any install issues.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE Please give us some time to register your Terra, the sooner the better.  Registrations for Global Big Day on May 10 must be completed by 9 pm EDT May 9.

MULTIPLE TERRAS Whether you have 1 Terra or 10, all Terras associated to your email address will be active for the contest. While a user can have multiple Terras entered into the contest, each species count will stand on its own and will be an individual item on the leaderboard. They will not be added together. 

ID REPORTING Terra won't automatically report your yard list to eBird since they don't accept automated lists, but we encourage you to participate and make a separate list to contribute to the world tally.   Find out more at Global Big Day.
